Open The Unusual Door: True Life Stories of Challenge, Adventure, & Success by Black Americans is a magnificent collection of sixteen autobiographical essays from a diverse group of prolific African-Americans including Queen Latifah, Derek Jeter and Colin Powell. Contributors share stories of how they turned chance into triumph, made a comeback, or in some cases, learned how to survive. Through these true life stories teens will find the power within to recognize that when one door closes, another one opens.
