Senior Citizen Apartments

NEWLY CONSTRUCTED SENIOR CITIZEN APARTMENTS FOR RENT AT 334 EAST 92ND STREET IN THE UPPER EAST SIDE SECTION OF MANHATTAN
Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for 23 affordable housing rental apartments now under construction at 334 East 92nd Street in the Upper East Side section of Manhattan. This building is being constructed through the Inclusionary Housing Program of New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Scholarship

The Investment Bank has developed a new BA scholarship, Launching Leaders, targeted to Black, Hispanic and Native American sophomores and juniors interested in financial services. In addition to the academic scholarship ($5,000 for sophomores, $7,500 - $10,000 for juniors), recipients will be awarded a summer internship in corporate finance, sales & trading or research. (Sophomores who successfully complete their summer internships will be invited back for a second summer -- that will include a rotation in our London office -- and can qualify to receive an additional year of scholarship support.) Launching Leaders candidates must have a 3.5 GPA and complete the application process. All majors are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is January 16, 2007.

Turner School of Construction Management

The Turner School of Construction Management Program is an eight week, sixteen session course designed to provide experienced contractors with the tools necessary to pursue work in the private and public sectors. Participants will learn the essentials of managing a business, including how to develop a business plan, estimate and bid a larger job, obtain bonding, enforce safety principles, and market your firm. This course will equip experienced owners and managers with the tools to compete for progressively larger contracts.
Start Date: Thursday, January 11, 2007 Time 5:30-9:00 pm(Meeting every Tuesday and Thursday through March 8, from 5:30-9:00 pm)Place: Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building at 163 West 125th Street
The Program is open to owners and managers of construction companies with a three year track record.
Registration: The cost of the Program is $150.00 per person. The fee includes a $25.00 nonrefundable processing fee. The fee includes all class handouts and refreshments. The entire fee must be paid at time of registration.
